Will oppose anti-public safety bills, among others, such as making it more difficult for police to capture suspects, even for murder. City legal actions by our attorney may ensue.
The city, under a Greene mayoralty, would listen to the voice of the People of Federal Way, and they've voted "no" so far, and that's how it should stand until and unless they change their minds.
Still the "strong mayor" system, but more accountable: Mark Greene will give up 50% of his salary to better enable the city budget to afford the hiring of a professional city manager that would handle basic city functions, unlike Ferrell's political hacks running them. The mayor will oversee the manager, and handle the political and governmental functions of the city.
Mark Greene is on mini-reporting through the Public Disclosure Commission, which means he can't raise or spend more than $5000 for his campaign. Does Ferrell plan on shifting his money to run for a new office, in which case, if he won for a different office, he would not complete a would-be 3rd term?
Why can't the present mayor keep a fiscally sound city budget? Ferrell always seems to be a couple of million dollars in arrears and appears to be borrowing from the city's monetary reserve fund to make up the difference. Pretty soon, under this bad management, Federal Way won't have a reserve fund.
Ferrell has tolerated practices that have led to the deterioration of our city's streets, in all manner of ways, and a considerable drop in a comfortable city lifestyle for all, including big retail businesses like Sear's and Macy's leaving Federal Way on Ferrell's watch. Vote this mayor out before we're stuck with him as mayor-for-life.
