Now, the so-called teachers’ unions are talking about mandating anti-covid vaccinations for all public school students. Who gave them the right to determine what kind of medical treatment students should have? Nobody…and they don’t have that right, it belongs to the parents. These are the same teachers’ unions that kept students out of the classroom for a year despite scientific data and studies from other countries that didn’t allow the classroom shutdowns, that showed that the unions’ “worries” were a paranoid frenzy, if not outright ulterior motives, that harmed children in a number of ways, not just educationally.
In Washington, the schools’ fascination with indoctrinating children with their radical left culture gained momentum in the crazy Washington Legislature that recently put their imprimatur on that idea. The Legislature doesn’t have the right, either, to indoctrinate children with their ideology or culture, and some lawyer(s), on behalf of parents’ rights and students’ rights, should take the recently signed radical left indoctrination legislation to court, and have it nullified.
As Mayor of Federal Way, starting in January, if elected, I’ll do everything legally possible to make sure that the city outlaws or otherwise pushes back against school vaccine mandates, mask wearing mandates, culturally-inappropriate-or-political-indoctrination of students, or schools’ and teachers’ defiance of parental/guardianship rights in general. This effort will be as broad as possible in extending protection of parental rights in pre-schools, grade schools, junior high schools and high schools.
Also, my mayoralty will have the most extensive program in the entire United States to accommodate parents who want to take their children out of public schools and transfer them to either private schools or home-schooling, and my office will be hiring an ombudsman that specializes in that, and in protecting parental & student rights overall, no matter where their schooling is at.
Post-script: This is a news article about the Legislature-passed CRT bills. Outrageous legislation signed by Gov. Inslee, unfortunately.
Note: For updates and more of our thoughts about schools and educational policy, and in some instances, how the mayor's office could affect policy, not to mention other issues, generally, please see the blog section. Thank you.
Time to get our kids back into the classrooms, out of the masks, & returned to regular life. Time to teach them that the Spirit of '76 is the foundation block of our nation, not the revisionist history from the left. Time to let our kids know that gloom & doom weather hysteria is false & incompatible with Scripture.
No so-called woke theories, no revisionist history, no political indoctrination, and no partisan politics. Teach the basics and inspire children to strive for excellence in schoolwork, and the big morality that virtually everybody and all religions agree on. Leave the overall morality lessons to the parents, where they belong.
Strongly against vaccine mandates, which is against natural law. Also, against so-called passports...just as bad. Schools should be mask-free or mask-optional, parents that don't like that should have the option of remote learning (via the schools) for their children as long as there is a pandemic on, or home-schooling.
Mark will insist that schools teach reading, writing and arithmetic, not preach politics. Sign up & keep up-to-date. Parents tell the schools that they work for them, not the other way around.
